Transferring Aus Super into KiwiSaver.
So you’re back in New Zealand and thinking about transferring your Super? Bringing your Australian Super into KiwiSaver can make life simpler. Instead of juggling two retirement accounts across two countries, you’ll see your full balance in one place — making it easier to track progress, choose the right fund, and deal with just one provider.
There are a few rules to be aware of: transferred Super can’t be used for a first-home withdrawal, and once it’s in KiwiSaver it can’t be moved overseas again. In some cases, you may also be able to access it earlier under Australian rules (from age 60), which is different to KiwiSaver’s standard age of 65.
